Ageing is a complex process of accumulation of molecular, cellular, and organ damage leading to loss of function and increased vulnerability to disease and death. The rate and extent of which varies among individuals. Osteoarthritis (OA) is not only the most common joint disease, but is also one of the major causes of disability in people and is accompanied by comorbid conditions, increased mortality and decreased quality of life. The present study was conducted to assess effectiveness of comprehensive teaching counselling module (CTCM) on knowledge regarding preventive measures of osteoarthritis among middle age citizens (45-65 years) of age. 60 sample were collected by using purposive sampling technique through structured knowledge questionnaire the data collected and analysed based on descriptive and inferential statistics. The result of the study showed that the post-test mean score (15.31) was high when compared to the pre-test mean (7.01) score of knowledge. The obtained “t” value (19.28) was greater than table value & df 59 which was p < 0.05 level of significance, which shows that there is significant difference between pre-test and post-test level of knowledge hence the formulated research hypothesis H1 was rejected H01 accepted. The test revealed that there was no significant association of knowledge with selected demographic variables such as Age in years, religion, education and health care facility.
