Age was positively correlated with vitamin D level. There was a significant inverse correlation between serum 25 (OH) D concentrations and duration of sun exposure. Conclusion: The etiology of the high prevalence of vitamin D deficiency in our study is multifactorial, where lack of sunlight exposure and inadequate diet are the most important factors.
